Have you ever tried shifting any higher?? 5600 doesn't sound very high to me.

im gonna try shifting higher this year, have a new adjustable msd box, last year all I had was the old box and that was the highest pill, I drive the car on the street so I don't want to cut up much

I don't think you need much for just running 7.50, My 302 ran 7.30's, but 2950lb, 4.56 gear, your a 383, not sure if you need nitrous, I shifted at 5800 it liked that, according to what the engine likes. If driving on the street, probably no more gear than a 4.10. go from there. You in the car show this year, I think you was in the past.

what 10 bolt rear do you have? if it's a 7.5 then changing gears or adding nitrous will break that rear fast

I'm running a Holley 750, I'm hoping a gear change and higher shift can get me close to 7.60, I know 3 tenths is hard to get

Shift around 62 or 6300. Maybe get a bigger converter something that will stall around 45-5000
