I believe they were just pointing out that the Valley while raising the entry fee by ten dollars is actually only paying out $150.00 more than last year. As far suggestions, why do do you think I brought up the article on CompetitionPlus. The problem Charlie is that the Valley doesn't bother to respond to any of the Bracket racers on this site. I'm still waiting on a response from the Valley on my original post concerning the Quick 16, that I posted about 2 or 3 months ago. I personally am not interested in racing against a 7 second car round after round in my car when I can run 5.0's on motor. Basically the fast bracket cars (Quick 16) are being punished by the actions of a few racers who show up late to the staging lanes. And it's such an easy thing to remedy. You put up a cone, say 5 minutes after the 2nd or 3rd call and if you're not in the lanes or at least rolling towards the lanes when the cone goes up, "TOO BAD SO SAD" you're out of the Quick 16. It would only happen a couple of times before you'd eliminate the issue. As for all the Bracket 1 cars getting to run for $1500.00, well this favors the slower cars. It is much more difficult to be consistent in a fast car than it is a slow car. Just ask Wayne Bilbrey about his old New Yorker that the Valley kept lowering the minimum ET on in an attempt to stop that car from winning.

I don't think the faster cars are being punished, I have a 7 second car and I made the quick 16 5 times last year because some of the people I talked to didn't want to run it. The way I look at it I go up there and just run my own race and have fu if I win okay if I lose oh well there is always next week I run beech bend and I don't here anyone complaning about running a slower car and they dont have a quick 16. I talk to alot of the guys who run 5 second cars and they say the same thing just run yur own race. see ya at the track

Hi, Ken. Welcome to the area. Crosstalk works like this: Both top bulbs come on at the same time - the slower car's tree continues down while the faster car's top light stays on until the timer activates that tree. Make sense? It's not really that complicated. I thik if you stand aside and watch it a few times, I think it makes it easier to understand how it works. Damon

Dear Mister HardTimes, I believed I raced the Valley 4 times in the month of October alone. Several times in September, August, July, June, & May. And yes I do still plan on racing IHRA Division 3 Top Sportsman and no all my kronies have not quit. We are still going to venture away from the Valley and race, something that whoever you are, is afraid to do. And yes I did make it to the semis on several occasions, though I have no idea what that has to do with anything concerning the loss of the Quick 16. From the tone of your post above, you are just trying to get some nuts started, so if that's what you want, have the balls to leave your name. I started this thread to try a point out other ways for the Valley to increase the car count and payouts and still provide a class for those guys willing to spend the money to go fast. I am not putting down the slow cars, I used to be one. I am just stating that I'd prefer to race cars closer to my own ET, since that's what I see when I'm racing IHRA Top Sportsman.

here we go again, what we think would make for a more heads up program in brackets.
example
5 sec cars lane 1
6 sec cars lane 2
7 sec cars lane 3 & so on.
the fans could relate to this more than a 4 sec dragster running down a 7 sec car.
also this would give the diggers more of a chance to run each other & the real fast cars. get down to a few combine em. i know they wouldn't know what lane to go to and all the other little zingers, this setup could make for more interesting racing, after all everbody likes closer heads up racing. ken.

Hell, I dont mind racing the super fast door cars or rails...it just makes more of the win when they go on the trailer...

Thats not a bad idea Ken, maybe some of the regular bracket racers can give some input on this...

I race in pro and I agree with the buybacks shouldn't get points but as far as racing the faster cars, doesn't make any difference,if you get a light it doesn't matter who is beside ya.Race your race.I've beat super fast and super slow so let's just race..

excuse me for rambing, we have a 5.90 car & spend all this money to mostly have fun racing but we very much want to win. no one can always cut a light or dial in right so you've got to drive on both end's one reason i stress closer heads up racing is those 4.50 diggers & cars are coming on you so fast in the 8th its hard to judge. i will always believe closer heads up racing is better for your & my game. ken.
p.s if you run a car closer to your dial in & screw up you can still win on the big end. see you soon. ken.

WHAT DOES RACING ELSEWHERE HAVE TO DO WITH WHAT THE VALLEY HAS DONE IN RAISING ENTRY FEES? THAT IS JUST A CHOICE PEOPLE MAKE AS DO THOSE THAT RACE THE VALLEY WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT. WHY ARE YOU SINGLING OUT TONY THOMAN AND HIS QUOTE CRONIES ? IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEM I DONT FEEL THIS IS THE FORUM FOR IT. OR MAYBE YOU DONT WANT THEM TO RACE THERE JUST MY 2 CENTS
