how do you tell the difference between a mild steel roll cage and a chrome molly cage that is in a car . someone told me chrome molly wont rust, can a chrome molly cage be mig welded. thanks

I'm pretty sure that Chrome molly has to be tig welded, but I'm no welder.

NHRA requires that Chrome Moly be TIG welded.
It is stronger than regular tubing so SFI allows you to use thinner material. This results in a weight savings vs. the same cage built from regular tubing.
And it rusts just like the regular stuff to.

In other words if you want you're moly cage to fail when you need it most, then mig weld it.
