Perhaps the biggest factor can be found in this simple math formula:
10.5" tires + unlimited engine combinations + 1/8th mile racing = level playing field Don’t believe it? Look at the results in Orlando, Florida from this year’s World Street Nationals, which was run on a quarter-mile track. It shouldn’t be surprising that it was won by a turbo car. Why? To the 1/8th mile, it’s much more of a matter of finesse - whoever can apply the power the best will usually get to the finish line first. From the 1/8th mile on, the turbos seem to have an advantage and will really stretch their legs. Need more proof? There was .02-second between the quickest nitrous run (4.56) and the top turbo car (4.54) to the 1/8th mile. It appears the 10.5 tire is the great equalizer in this equation.

I agree that Turbo's have a big advantage and it will show when all the turbo cars show up at the same time trying to win 2K on a big tire. I don't think that anyone will show up on a small tire when big ones are allowed. I know I will have steam rollers on mine 34x17.50x16

Now Bill, it looks to me that Pat was trying to say that its all fair and equal on an 1/8th mile... See Charlie pat say's you need reread his statement then get it approved before saying anything. This is the reason why all messages have to be approved because sometimes people don't read thing properly then they quote the other person incorrectly and it causes problems. This message has been approved by myself and Pat.
