It is a shame Tony because everybody knows you are a good racer and you were a very tough competitor all year... until Saturday night. It is what it is. Everybody saw you and Erick rush to be the first in line, BEFORE they even called bkt 1 to the lanes, and then you round robin in the second round so you could do it again, with the same results. 2 freebies. The jury is still out on the third round "gimme" from Coomer, but you didn't have to race anybody until you raced Joey, and he was on a mission and we know what happened there. I hope you can look people in the eye and be proud of your championship, but if I won it that way, I sure couldn't. I believe you have to "EARN" every round win. I don't know if it matters to you, but you lost a lot of respect from a lot of racers Saturday night. So in closing, enjoy your Championship and have a nice off season

People been doing that for yrs down there. Sounds like some of you guys ain't been doing your home work . If you want to win points better have a team together on the last day. One yr seen 4 cars going to lanes protecting the guy leading wonder if they did n't run in to each other they were so close. Lol Word!!!

For the first time in 3 years I get on this message board because I was called and told I should look. First of all Congrats Tony on the chamipionship regardless of what some seem to think it is well DESERVED!!!! It's a shame the some people like to get on here and make comments about crap they know nothing about, first of all I'll say I wasn't there to see how this all went down nor do I care how obvious it may have looked. For those who are so upset about this I'm sure my DAD would be more then happy to let you come over and pull the intake off the car and fix the gasket problems there were having. Second of all are we great friends with Tony: YES d**n near family, so with that being said anybody on here that's says they had a racecar that was wounded and you couldn't trust it was gonna leave the starting line "making you a sitting duck" wouldn't take care of a great friend / family is lyeing!!! There are a handful of people that I would do that for in that situation and they would for me. Nobody was paid, no rounds were bought contrary to what people think. It's been done for years and several times been done way before the final night. You think people who own multiple cars wouldn't do it? If you was having issues with your car and knew someone was getting a free round wouldn't you give it to one of your closes friends. Facts are that would have happen in the middle of the season if the situation was there, only difference is I would have benefited from it if I was racing. Like it or not it's been going on forever, it's no disrespect to anyone else but most people would take care of there closes friends or family. For those who have stated they lost respect for those involved, I can't speak for Tony but I can pretty much guarantee you that on the Smith they are not worried out you losing respect, my dad especially has helped a lot of people down there and has a lot of friends pretty sure there sleeping ok at night. Once again good job Tony!!! Good job Joey you did a hell of a job as well, one tuff dude in that Mustang. Just my insight, now I can go back and hybrinate. Rick Bale good to see you were at the track, hope your feeling better!!!

I remember those days ^^^
Wrong or Right,
Obviously one group was not as experienced In the game of points chasing/championships and what usually happens on the last day.
The other was much more experienced and had/has been on both sides of all the games over the years, they felt like what they did was a necessary defense to keep them from losing the championship, not necessarily to "steal" a championship.
All it would have took was a little chasing to the lanes to spoil the whole plan....Just Sayin.

Well, I don't believe in "helping" aka manipulating the out come of a race. I believe you go up there and stage your car, and you try to rip the other guy's throat out, regardless of who it is. I have no, nor do I want any friends when I'm in that race car on the starting line. just how I roll. I DON'T believe in "throwing a round" I don't care who you are. Just my opinion and I'm sorry if I stepped on any toes. Thanks Shaun for your kind words

I dunno... we've got multiple cars, I never took a free round or gave one.... matter of fact, ain't no azz whooping like the one you get from your own family...... also, I remember some shenanigans from 2013... and a crowd gathered around a different blue dragster a year or two earlier. Sounds like y'all need to go hibernate in that bed you been making. Whether tony did get a freebie or not it doesn't matter, History is a real kick in the nutz, and it changes how we view the present.

If that's what you have to do, then I guess I'll never win a championship. That is bullsh1t any way you slice it. You should "EARN" every round JMO Rick, that is not the case. That's just how some folks have to get it done! My points championship (albeit in trophy) was decided and successfully defended on the last day. I drove to the staging lanes each and every round with my heart beating out of my chest! Had to knock of Ricky Conover Jr., Willie Slone, Kim Young, and Travis Sells to clinch it. If I had the slightest feeling that any of them threw a round or lined up knowing that they had no chance of winning, I would've kicked em square in the nuts for ruining my experience! Some folks don't feel that way and that is a direct reflection of character! Pro this year was a race for 2nd. One that I lost because I choked! I could have lined up friends who didn't have a dog in the fight and went more rounds than Ed holding 2nd but I just couldn't disrespect the game that way. It's cheap. I'm right there with ya Rickster and believe, you can win without all that crap! DJ did, like I said, in SEPTEMBER!!!! Moral of the story, don't let it come down to the last race!!!!!

I hear ya Josh. I know it can be done. Like you said DJ did it and nobody can question anything he did because he handed out azz whoopins on a weekly basis. I just don't see how anybody can poke their chest out with pride, knowing they didn't earn every single round !!!
