There are some guys at my local track that seem to be cheating and we just can't figure out how. I thought maybe some fellow race fans could help me figure it out. We are running Pro Class. When they stage they have the peddle to the floor, there is no fluxuation in their RPM's at all. When your standing at the start line and listen, it is obvious. Their RPM don't gradually go to their desired rpm, it just is an immediate thing. and this group of guys normally have decent lights, but ever since they have been doing this thing with their rpms their lights are killer. Any ideas on what they are possibly doing?

They probably jsut have a big converter, when you are foot braking you can stall it up as high as possible if the brakes will hold..Pretty bad someone who evidently doesn't know much about cars or racing says people are cheating...Get the facts before you bash...One of our cars footbrakes better than it transbrakes so I guess whoever is driving that one is cheating huh!Talk to someone who knows a little bit and you'll see what I mean..

Look Chad......No need to be smart! I don't race, my boyfriends family does, they don't deal with electronics at all and whatever these people are doing just doesn't seem right. If I thought I what it was, even if they are not cheating, I wouldn't have asked. At least I'm trying to find out!

Chad, Thanks for the suggestion on what it may be, though. You're expertise is appreciated!

Hey didn't mean to sound like a smart a$$ but accusing someone of cheating in bracket racing is a big deal..I think it would be easy to do but our group has eyes everywhere. If we hear that someone may be stretching the rules we'll do our best to find out..Most of the times it's someon who just got spanked and is trying to blame it on someone else cheating..
See ya Chad

I'm glad you guys have a good group, we're on the east coast and there are some groups who are sketchy. Well my boyfriend's been the Champ 2 years in a row and this year he came in second to his father, so in this case its not someone crying because they got beat. Our pro class allows no electronics at all, no trans brakes, etc.

Hey Chad, sounds to me like one of those new throttle stops with a trans brake and they are both legal in our division. You know the stop you can hold to the floor no popping or banging think Dedenbear. See ya

If someone was saying sopmeone was using a delay box in Pro it can't be done, WHy all NHRA tracks use what is called a staggered tree which prevents this, When super pro runs the staggered tree id deactivated, Staggered tree is used for Jr's, Trophy and Pro I'm sure someone, somewhere, has figured out the time difference in a full tree and a staggered tree and applied it to a delay box. If you look close enough at the LED bulbs, you can see it. It's not impossible...I'm sure someone has figured it out. They say it's only cheating if you get caught, right? Damon

Not all tracks have a staggered tree and yes a delay box can be used for cheating in the no box class, If I am not mistaken someone got caught at russel springs at one of the big races.

Yeah, with these guys there is no popping sound or anything, only that they have it to the floor, except normally a car seperates when your up on the converter that hard and these cars look relaxed. It's almost like when they push the gas peddle to a certain point it clicks something on. They may be completely far out there, just what it seems like. Thanks for all the suggestions......keep them coming!

ALOT OF COMPANYS MAKE AIR ACTIVATED SOLENOIDS FOR YOUR THROTTLE.WHEN ACTIVATED YOU CAN ONLY OPEN YOUR THROTTLE TO A DESIRED AMOUNT BUT THE PEDDLE GOES TO THE FLOOR.WHEN DEACTIVATED "WHAMO" WIDE OPEN THROTTLE AND THE PEDDLES ALREADY DOWN.BUT ITS LEGAL.
