A BUDDY OF MINE JUST INSTALLED A NEW CAMSHAFT A LUNATI VOODO CAM IN A CHEVY 350 AND IT SEEMS TO BE MISSING AND ONLY FIRING ON 6 CYLINDERS DURING IDLE. ITHINK IT PROBALY WIPED SOME LOBES OF THE CAM DURING BREAK IN.THE TIMING AND FIRING ORDER AND EVERYTHING ELSE SEEMS TO BE OK. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR IDEAS AS TO WHAT IS WRONG.

if its an hydro cam an you soak the lifters in oil all night it makes them harder to adjust. if its mech cam adjust this way, when ex starts to open adjust intake, when intake almost close adjust ex.
other than that theres 40 diff things cause a miss, might want to check your timing gears could be off 1 tooth, when its hot anything can hapen.

re-check valve adjustment, especially if a solid lift, you will know right away if cam issue, flat tappet breakins are very tough these days with the oils, we use comp cam additive and rotella 15/40 diesel oil, it helps, run at a couple gran for at least 30 minutes, then cool totally down and do it again. on hyd. don't adjust as tight as spec, go back in and re-adjust after breakin

IT IS A HYDRAULIC CAM. IF ONE OF LOBES IS WIPED OUT THEN YOUR PUSHED ROD AND ROCKER ARM ON THAT PARTICULAR LOBE SHOULD NOT MOVE UP AND DOWN RIGHT?

might still move, just less than the others.
You can cut the oil filter open, if it wiped out a lobe, it will be in there.

MR BREWER is right on about flat tappet cams & the deisel oil.
i am concern with 2 things 1- after valves are adjusted i will run oil pump with drill until oil runs out of rocker arms. 2- fill the carb with gas make sure batt is up rotor at # 1 engine must fire with in 2 full turns if not STOP, get help to start engine. big block chevy's are the worst on the exhaust lobes.

to the last post, amen on chevy big blocks being the worst, we wiped out two cams on a 396, before we got one to break in, the fun part is taking a new engine apart twice to clean it. that s--ks.
