Anything faster than a 7.50 in the 1/8 you have to have a roll cage.

Charlie, What are the chances of this class happening next year? It sounds like a lot of people are interested. Thanks, Jason

Sounds like a good class to me also. I don't have the kinda funds to compete with the big boys, but yuou can bet it will be flooded with imports if the rules go that way.

I think you are opening it up for a lot of bracket cars. IMO ;D Would really have to make sure of the "street car" rules. If not you would have a bracket racer(built to run consistant e.t.'s) detuning/tuning their car and hammering out 7.500-7.509 all day long. Granted in most races its over after the green and my thoughts are you might as well just set-up a practice tree in the pits and have the race there ....save time. Your going to head-up with a class full of 7.50 cars. I myself want to run some heads-up racing myself, just not sure if this is the wasy to do it.....sounds a lot like a bracket class to me......but you guys at OVOS do a great job of figuring things out.....you will get it. just my .02.

not to butt-in on this but since we are asking...here is my input:
Naturally Aspirated 9 inch tire No electronic No trans-brake
A big block would set the standard for weight. Small blocks v6 4-bangers run less weight What is a good weight? Hell I have no ideal... ;D

since funds are tighter than they were a few years back when I raced true street, count me in for an index class. sounds like it could be something fun for guys with low budgets who want to race heads up. as already mentioned, the cars should still have to be real street cars and not bracket cars. thanks and I hope this idea makes it.

Whats your definition between a "real" street car and a bracket car??? Because really my car is still a "real" street car, but at the same time I also use it to bracket race. The only thing that my car is missing to be street legal is insurance and thats no big deal to get. I was still driving my car on the street up till two years ago and I let the insurance expire.

I know people who drives there car to the valley and buts a pair of ET Streets on there car and runs 7.60s in trophy class and the car has been 7.30s. This person car is a "real" street car but he bracket races it. He lives about 1 to 1-1/2 hours away from the valley

I could run Dad's Camaro in this class however it's currently uncapped with only One seat and no carpet or back sea. Would I need to put carpet, seat and mufflers on the car? Off the trailer it went 7.40 1/8 and 11.63 1/4 at MP dragway with a small 650dp. We would have to de-tune it a bit when we slap on the larger carb. Another concern is fiberglass hoods Most street cars that race are going to have fiberglass hoods, as does the camaro. The rest of the body is all steel and 1979 Camaros are HEAVY!! But dad has fun playing with his toy. Thanks Damon Sea

If he can cross the line first at 7.50 or slower he will take a win. But if he goes 7.49 or quicker or finishes second he's out simple as that.

Hey Charlie, inquiring minds want to know your opinion on this class and if it is a possibility for next year. There seems to be a lot of interest here. This class would be a great feeder to entry street in the future. Thanks, Jason

HEY T-BIRD, DONT YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR CAR DONE FIRST? 7.50 IN A CAR THAT'S NOT DONE WOULD BE PRETTY GOOD lol ;D lATS SEE IF YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHO THIS IS AND JUST REMEMBER I KNOW EXACTLALLY WHAT YOU ARE RUNNING AND WHAT YOU HAVE LEFT TO DO TO IT.
