You guys are totally forgetting what this class is all about...It is about FUN and a place for the people who cant run True street to be able to race...People act like its a sin for someone to step back from True street and run this class, truth is that is why we started 8.5 to begin with...If it becomes a class that needs lots of rules then we will look at the class as a whole and decide what to do with it...The cars that have ran this class for awhile have stepped up enough to be competitive and the newer cars will do the same with time(if they want to)...

charlie i agree i would rather see you keep the same rules(but with a weight break for big block combo) than see a index.

charlie i do not want anymore rules. I just am hoping that you don't put a 6.0 index on this class. This is all i am stating. I didn't spend the money on my car to bracket race. If i wanted to bracket race i would have bought a clunker and just tried to run the same time over and over even it was a 20.00. The index will cause this class to be a foot brake class.
331 bowling green was great. first time for 1/4 and it is awesome. Car did well and i have a post on chris's board

I agree Heads Up should not have a cap. Its kills the whole idea. Money and ingenuity is where it is at for heads up. If a person cant be competitive with the set rules whatever they are or will be so be it. Stepping up would have to be the anwser. The name of the game is goin rounds. Being the quickest in the field usually is the guys running on the razors edge. So the opportunity for the slower car is there to capitalize on. Im sure some of the guys that ran the class this season could confirm that. BTW, i didnt realize the bracket cars were a class of CLUNKERS. Just my opinion from a bracket racers view. No flaming needed.

pony lets see we don't see eye to eye and if you would like come on over and we will talk about it. If you would look at my post you would see clearly what i was stating. I didn't say bracket racers was a bunch of clunkers. I said if I wanted to bracket race i wouldn't have spent a bunch of money all i would have done is bought an old clunker and went and run it because thats all it takes is something very consistent and will run the same time over and over and as u would know something slow is easier to run the same time over and over than something fast so read what i said and understand it. I am not flamming anyone just stating a fact that heads up does not need any index.

Ok. I have raced Outlaw 8.5. I threw some rules ideas out there to try to help the class. I do think that there should be some more rules other than weight and tire, but if OVOS doesn't want rules then that how it will be. I'll be back next season maybe better maybe not. I went rounds and wasn't the fastest. Ask some of the guys that I raced. I won a lot on the tree. The index 6.0 cap. Now that can be something to talk about. Has anyone looked at what has been going on in Huntsville? Over 70 cars in 6.0 class and over 70 cars in 7.0 class. Hum putting a cap on the ET BAD or GOOD? It would draw a lot more cars. Like I said before what ever the rules are thats what I'll do. My car fits both OVOS Outlaw 8.5 and OSCA Mild Street. Thats how I would like to keep it.

pony you have a reply
knickel so tell me if a guy runs 5.99 he is disqualified right? Why don't they want this index on other classes as well? I think personally its a bad thing why hit the brakes. That would suck hitting brakes running heads up. I just don't understand this really. I am building a car to compete and hell i dont even know what it will run and it might be so slow that i don't have to even worry about this, but when i do get it fast i don't wanna hit the brakes.

Charlie you said that the 8.5 outlaw is suppose to be for people you can't run true street. Then having a unlimited class, because really that's what this class is with the exception of the weight and tire size, is for people who can't run true street. If this is the case why does true street have so many rules why don't just make it a tire and weight class to?? Why should big blocks get a weight break?? Because there not winning?? Is that everybody fault that, that person decided to build a big block car instead of a small block? I'm not trying to step on any toes because I also plan on running this class next year. Charlie you are right its suppost to be fun. The other thing that I laugh about is it's all over winning a big $200 dollars tha

an index is not that bad, and is not bracket racing, you will still be on a pro tree, it just evens out the playing field.
