To whom it may concern, I've heard tell that Ohio Valley is going get rid of the Quick 16 for the 2006 season and supposedily add this money to the Bracket 1 payout. I can only say that I hope this rumor turns out to be untrue, and that Ohio Valley continues to have the Quick 16. The Valley certainly wouldn't be helping the car count any in Bracket 1 by eliminating this group, in fact they'd probably have fewer cars, because most of the guys that race the quick 16 do so because they get to race cars closer to their own ET's which make for better racing for both them and those sitting in the stands. Adding a mere $250 to the bracket 1 purse is not going to solve the low car count problem. It's obvious that problems do exist, but those problems have nothing to do with the guys running the quick 16. So again I hope Ohio Valley keeps the Quick 16 in place so that the faster cars can continue to compete against one another and not have to go someplace else to race.

I have also heard these rumors. I have heard that there was talk of raising the entry fee to $50 and the winner payout to go to $1500. What has anyone else heard?

No one is trying to start any rumor. I'm going by what was stated on another website from those who were in attendance in a meeting with Terry Huff. And please if you're going to criticize, have the guts to state your real name.

I was the one that started it on the other site. It wasn't to start a rumor it was to find out what was going on from other who I knew would have some input (members at the meeting). Sometimes to stop a rumor you have to ask the question. "And what Tony said."

They need to put all of the transbrake air/electric shifted Bracket 2 cars into Bracket 1 and make Bracket II footbrake only. That'll even the car count up.

Maybe it's time we the racer's take a stand again and let Terry Huff know that we are the foundation of that place and that his house was built from our entries. Numbers can stop him from screwing us again this time by taking away the Q16 and merely adding $150 to the purse. Once again there is no incentive to go fast. The last time this happened throttle stops ruled,7.99 is the magic # again. I heard there might be a Racers Coallition getting started real soon, this definitely could be what we need to stop the nonsence. We are going to be paying up to $15 more to race at the Valley. Look around, this isn't the only track that is within driving distance.

Hey 00, answer me this...Do you think that publicly talking about forming a coalition against Terry will get you anywhere at all?
Let me help you guys with a little info about Terry, as most of you know already, he can be just as big of a stubborn donkey as anyone can be, but he really isnt that hard to deal with once you figure him out a little...Pick someone that can understand him and make that person the one to do the negotiating and i'll bet you will be shocked at how willing he is to listen and compromise...The Huff's dont like to be told how to run their business anymore than the rest of us like to be told how to run our own...
Also why hasnt their ever been anyone to actually PUSH what bracket racing is really about to the individuals that have no clue? You would be shocked at how many people there are that cant grasp the concept of one car getting such a huge headstart...Explain to them just how close some of these races are decided by and you'll see their eyes open with disbelief...These are the things that will raise the interest by the spectators and in turn will benefit everyone involved...I respect all of you guys because I know just how hard it is to be good at bracket racing and you guys should work to spread that word...How about having some flyers at the car show that explains the ins and outs of it all...I know this may be getting a little off of the subject, but in reality, money ties all of this together...

I was at the meeting with Terry and he is trying to help the racers and bring in more cars.I say if you don't like how it is run then race somewhere else. The things we talked about aren't set in stone and I think it was a good jesture in Terry asking several bracket racers what they thought. No matter what the change most of us,even the ones that say they won't,will be there racing..See ya'll soon.

From my understanding no one had the guts to say any feedback to Terry at the meeting but was soon to criticise his proposal afterwards. To Charlie, this coallition has been a long time in the making. Some racers race as a business and some as a hobby, I respect both. For those who do it as a business, they can't afford to keep having increases that make no sense. Yeah, ad a mesely $150 to a purse for $10 more, possibly $15 more if you have to buy-back. It just don't ad up. If Terry would call back all the racers he either run off or kicked out the s-pro average could jump dramatically! If I were to run a track, it seems as though you would want to draw customers and give them an incetive to race at your track. The program is boring, same old thing every year. Street Car Shootout is the only thing he has going that is worth while for a spectator. Jesse Ballew had the balls to bring in a variety of things, such as match races or jet cars. If you double your spectators on Sat. nites you would have no problem paying $2000 to win. I've raced everywhere and Terry should visit other tracks also, see how they draw between 75 and 100 super pro cars every weekend! Most track owners let you know that their glad to have your business. They even offer incentives for a high car cout, you know, more money. Get a grip guys, keep letting trhem have their way and we'll be racing for trophies. I'm sure they'd much rather have test and tune all the time, then they wouldn't have to put up with us not a very nice persons.

some cars in bracket two have almost as much electronics as bracket one, which makes it that much more fun winning with a foot brake

I didn't realize you could have almost as much electronics as bracket one and not be one!!! I footbrake with an electric shifter and a two step to leave off of, does that mean I have almost as much electronics as bracket one? As long as I meet the rule requirements for "Pro" in the NHRA rule book I'm good to go. Why would you put transbrake air/electric shifted Bracket 2 cars into Bracket 1 when Bracket 2 is running by the "Pro" rules in the NHRA book and Bracket one is running "Super Pro". I must have lost something here the foot brake class you two are talking about sounds like the Sportsman class. If you don't like the rules at a track or if you think it should be run differently you have three choices. You can talk to the managment to make changes, buy the track and run it yourself or race somewhere else. If it is an NHRA track and they run their program consistant with the rules of the sanctioned body who are we to tell them how to make money/run their business. Myself I'm ready to race in the class my car most likely fits, I will either see you at the Valley or not. If the managment of the Valley has made a bad business move that is a lick on them and not for me to rule on. Sorry for the rant.
