ok, so like I don't know and I'm gonna ask: at what point in a round would I be considered late and not eligible to compete ? say something happened to the car and I'm bustin chops to get it in. Bracket 2 has all but finished; Bracket 1 has been paired and word given to "suit up". I get going and make the lane, but I'm late. so yeah, now the entire round has been screwed on the bye count. what is the cut-off point of being considered late and not eligible to compete the round ? Per track rules, as posted on the website: 34. WHEN YOUR CLASS HAS BEEN CALLED TO THE STAGING LANE FOR ELIMINATIONS, YOU MUST BE AT THE HEAD OF THE STAGINGS LANES WHEN THE LAST CAR (OR PAIR) REACHES THE BURNOUT BOX OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. “NO EXCEPTIONS.”

Your late when there is no buy and the last 2 cars make get paired and roll past the stage line or when there is a buy the buy run rolls past the stripe to enter the water box. But in most cases they will wait if your there ready to roll in and race

It is very simple, you pull a buy a every time, no matter what, if it's not even, you have a buy, that's the way it was. I can sit here and think of several racer's that come in late, if the last car is past the line at the front of staging, that's it, no more cars. Not someone being able to roll up when you are going past the yellow into the water box. Seen that happen.

ok, understand that portion explaining "disqualification". but it does not address "bye", or odd man gets the single..
so if I need to, choose to, or want to, sandbag to the end of the line, after pairings and the bye has been granted, I'm still legal to compete in the round, after the round has started, first pair is in the waterbox, as long as I am in the lane before the last pair goes into the waterbox .......................
think this carefully girls /:\

Sure. Pull a bye ALWAYS. The problem is when the cars are paired before they are run. If you pair the cars early, before MOST of the class is there, then they start getting paired front to back. Then the issue is the stragglers fall into the open lane and confuse everyone. IF the official stands at the head of the lanes and pairs cars AS THEY ARE PULLING OUT the pairs will not get screwed up. At this point the last cars will be paired and pulling out. Very black and white, you is or is not on time. Hey, I'm a straggler. If it's done this way 99% of the problems will be solved. There is no advantage to hanging back. Its only advantageous to be about the first 13 cars in line and have a chance at the bye.

I agree, pair at the head of the lanes...Bracket 2 it doesn't make much difference but in bracket 1 it makes all the diff.. You gotta load the guys et into the box.. I was paired Sat and pulled around the corner and ended up racing a guy 3 cars ahead of who I was told I was paired up with by the fella running the lanes. This shouldn't be too complecated even for a newbie.

To all of you complaining about the way the guy in the staging lanes paired everyone up and pulled the bye...this is for you..1. The official is entitled to a mistake. no one is perfect!!! He follows the rules set forth by the track manager and had 1 brain fart..oops..so very sorry...anyway, you have to run everyone at some time and if you win hooray, but if you lose, it's not the officials fault!!! 2. This official worked his ass off, i.e parking rigs as they came in to give everyone a fair amount of room and a decent parking spot. All of this done when the track opens and until the cars are called to the lanes for first round, of which he stays in the lanes until the last pair go down the track. 3. This official worked all day in the heat going back and forth to all positions giving breaks to other officials and working to make your stay at the event as pleasurable as possible. This is all done while you are chilling at your pit between your time runs and elimination rounds and hanging out with friends and grilling your food or even sitting in your motor homes with the air conditioning. Not once does anyone ask this official if he needs anything. Did anyone offer him a grilled burger, hot dog, steak off the grill with all the fixings? Did anyone offer him a soda or even a bottle of water? NOOOOOOO!!! 4. If you think you could do a better job, I'm sure the position would be available, but remember, the pay sucks!!! 5. The official you all are talking about also lives in Indianapolis and comes to the Valley to help when needed because of his love of racing and the racers themselves...5. if you wanna complain about something, please think before speaking..I just don't understand why people have to be so negative talking to others in a forum...Come to the source and voice your negativity there. Eventually you all will find out that a positive attitude will make you feel good inside and out...Try it a few times and remember, karma is a bytch!!! Thank you all who attended and competed the Prize Fight race as I personally enjoyed the whole show. Congrats to all the winners!!!! Theresa Reid

It's simple... Do like every other track. Best reaction time from previous round! Can't do that. Chris Morris would always have the bye. XD hahahahaha!!!

DJ... I might need to rethink that... Haha... But really it just might make it easier. Before you call cars to lanes announce who is on the bye and they pull to the side right away. That way they aren't in the lanes confusing everyone.

Works good up there

Can't do it the easyest way, There would be no DRAMA! If your back past 10 cars now you haven't even got a shot at a BYE RUN, well maybe 13 it just depends on what the cards Mean. Pull a Random Tech card and let them have it! It's not Complicated now is it?
