We feel that if there wasnt some sort of an advantage to running them that nobody would spend the money to get them...Why does a person spend an extra 5 or 6 grand to run a lenco or a liberty? Like i said before, if we see that we have a field that doesnt need this penalty then we wont waste any time in removing it... I knew Chris was going to get on you about the hit for the tranny. Hey Charlie can we make a BB NOS combo weigh a little more this year? Just kidding.

The reason I spent the money is because it does not break! How much is (2) full race PG or TH400's? the same amount as my 3-spd Lencodrive. The only difference is I don't need a spare. If it is converter driven, they all slip the same amount. I don't know of any organization that penalizes my type of transmission, as long as it is 3-speeds or less. Bishoff(BES) runs a 2-speed Lencodrive in their Olds Achieva because it does not break! It is one thing to get out run, but to lose just because you broke your tranny really stinks! As soon as the Powerglide becomes as strong as a Lenco I will have one in my car, because they are lighter and my purple pig can only get as light as 3005lbs. with me in it. Thanks.

One more quick question. Who has ran an "exotic" converter driven transmission and shown that the transmisson deserves a weight penality? The fastest cars in our "little" heads-up world in this area run PG's

Will the 100lbs. weight break for N/A BB in True Street come off the 2950lbs. number from last years rules? I know that there was a 50lbs. deduction for Joe for the last two races. The weight really seemed to help him a lot. I'll take 5.56 on all motor any day. So, anyway what will the final weight be? 2850lbs. or 2800lbs. I'd assume it would come off 2950lbs, considering the 50lbs. break was temporary. Thanks, David

I had to add 200 lbs for 2 dominators though David. That put me at 3150, then I got a 50 lb weight break so I was at 3100. I am thinking I will have to weigh 3000 next year (or the year after the way it is looking). What are your plans for next season? We are looking at building another car because everything on our old car is torn up but the headlights. The frame is bent pretty bad too. The motor sucked a piece of the carb down it too and it locked when we were trying to take the converter bolts out. We are trying to compare weights on a 87-93 hatchback to a 99-04.

Dont you run a liberty with a converter? No Charlie, I have a 3-spd. Lencodrive w/converter.

We have taken the time to check into your claims Chris and we have come to the agreement that we are going to throw the 50lbs out the window and not penalize ANY tranny combos at all...

I think you guys have made the right decision. If one combo proves to have an advantage then I am sure you will deal with it at that time. It is good to be able to have civil debates with fair results, see you guys next year!

Is the 3100lbs for turbos based on a single turbo or twins, or does it matter how many you have? Thanks

If you noticed I asked about the weight for a converter driven trans not a clutch. Most people will complain about not adding weight to the clutch cars, but I say let'em come I will race without whinning because next year we plan to GET ER DUN!...LOL Take care

A V6 turbo runs at 100lbs less than a comparable small block in all 3 classes...
As for you Mr. Message Approver, that was cute...
