I know Charlie is totally against having wheelie bars in True Street but what do some of you fellow racers think about the idea? I set out the 2nd round of qualifying and saw a lot of cars standing straight up. I see it as a safety device. What do you guys think.

Hey Joe, Glad to see you came out OK. Sorry to hear about the car. You and your dad work way to hard to have to deal with a bad crash. Get it back together soon.
Now for the wheelie bars.... NOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAY
You would have True Street guys running 5.30's every pass then.

While I respect the safety side of it (as well as the clean up time for ripped oil pans), wheelie bars are a class killer. Look at super street, limited street, etc. When those classes got bars they lost car count and fan appeal. Look at the success of PRO extreme street, basically the same as NSCA Limited street no bars.
Bars or not- I hope you get the car fixed and come back out next year, you guys are a class act and its fun to watch the N/A combo duke it out with the N2O cars...

Just wanted some other opinions on the wheelie bars. We are going to try to fix the car if at all possible. I have had the car since I was 15. It is like a family member now. It came out of a junkyard wrecked and we fixed it so I don't guess one more time is going to hurt. It started as a 13 second 5.0 5 speed driving back and forth to high school and we have just been adding every since. It needs a new top so while the top is off I think we will add a funny car cage and some extra bracing. You can never be too safe. Boy, don't I believe that now.
